We’ll be working on the Greystone Preserve – a 262-acre protected forest and outdoor classroom in North Augusta where the community can learn about the natural world through hands-on activities. We will work in our edible forest and the surrounding area. Some work will include: – Construction projects such as laying pavers for a BBQ area, building a small wooden deck – Garden projects such as planting fruit trees, mulching blueberry bushes, weeding veggie beds – Painting projects and other interior work on our new bathroom building
Additional Supplies Needed: If available, but not required: work gloves, garden tools, and small power tools.
Inclement Weather Plan: If it rains in the morning, then we will host the volunteers in the afternoon session. If it rains all day, we will have host the volunteers on the following Saturday.
Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least 10 years old. We ask that each minor is accompanied by an adult that will supervise their actions.
The Central Savannah River Land Trust is a nationally-accredited, local non-profit committed to safeguarding the CSRA’s forests, wetlands, and open spaces. By permanently preserving these important landscapes, we are protecting our quality of life today and leaving our children a legacy that will last for generations.
