Georgia War Veterans Nursing HomePassed

Volunteers at this event will participate in activities therapy for veteran residents of the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home by assisting them play BINGO. This includes assisting with bringing patients to play, distributing BINGO cards and chips to cover the cards. Also, volunteers will assist veterans, as needed, to cover numbers called during the games.

Additional Supplies Needed: BINGO cards, chips to cover BINGO cards, BINGO number cage roller and number boards, and prizes for the resident winners will be provided by Georgia War.

Inclement Weather Plan: N/A as this is an indoor activity.

Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least 0 years old. Anyone with flu-like symptoms including but not limited to fever, cough, cold, body aches, vomiting or diarrhea should refrain from participating on the day of service. Children under the age of 16 should be accompanied by a parent.

Will a consent form be required to participate? No

Additional Notes: In addition to participating as a Day of Service site, we are part of Augusta University. In addition to the 14 community volunteer spaces, we have several staff who volunteer at Georgia War as their Day of Service participation site to be here to help facilitate the event.
