Our museum has participated in Augusta University’s Day of Service in the past. We usually have multiple projects that the volunteers can work on. We will ask the volunteers to help police the community of any trash and debris, as well as pull unnecessary growth in our garden. The clean-up will begin at the museum and we will cover the area going north to Hopkins Street and going east to Tabernacle Baptist Church on Laney Walker Boulevard. On the interior we will ask volunteers to assist us in cleaning some of the glass/plexi glass cases in our conference room and museum. Every year the volunteers from Augusta University paint the restrooms in our conference room, as well as thoroughly clean all of the chairs and tables. Lastly, we end the day with a tour of the Laney Museum and ask that the volunteers give us an oral assessment of the tour.

Additional Supplies Needed: We will provide paint, gloves, trashbags, Windex and anything else that the volunteers will need. In addition we will have water for all of our volunteers.

Inclement Weather Plan: If it rains we will focus exclusively on the aforementioned inside tasks.

Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. No
