In the warehouse, we build queen and twin bedframes and headboards. This involves cutting and sanding lumber, assembling and painting bed frames. The work in the warehouse involves carrying lumber, using chop saw, rotary sanders, hand drills, and paint brushes. The warehouse is not air conditioned and the environment can be loud and dusty. We also deliver mattresses, bedframes, and bedding to local clients. This work involves loading the materials on the trailer, carrying lumber, assembling the bedframes on site, and making up the bed for the client. This work is done off site at the home of the client. All volunteers will be asked to sign a liability waiver form prior to volunteering with us. Children 12 years of age and older are welcome with appropriate adult supervision. (liability waiver form will need to be signed by parent or guardian).

Additional Supplies Needed: We provide safety equipment in the form of gloves, painting aprons, eye /ear/ respiratory protection. All hand tools needed for building and painting are supplied. Volunteers are asked to wear appropriate work clothing and closed toed shoes.

Inclement Weather Plan: we work rain or shine!

Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. minors can work in the warehouse and deliver beds with appropriate adult supervision. We are not able to transport minors in our personal vehicles during deliveries. Minors can help with deliveries but will need to have their own transportation.

Restart Augusta has been in operation since January 2014. We are a nonprofit organization run totally by volunteers . Our mission is to provide beds and bedding to children, families, and veterans in our area who do not have the resources to provide themselves with this basic foundation for a good start on the day and a healthy life; with a bed comes a sense of comfort, rest and peace.
