Central Savannah River Land Trust
Saturday, Nov 4, 2017
8:00am – 11:00am
The Land Trust safeguards the forests, wetlands, and open spaces that define our region’s character. Volunteers will be a making a difference by planting fruit trees on the Trust’s Greystone Preserve. This 262 acre oasis sits right on the edge of North Augusta, and is currently being transformed with walking trails and an outdoor classroom. Volunteers will plant trees around the classroom as part of the Trust’s edible gardening initiative. These trees will not only provide shade for the classroom, but will provide food for both people and wildlife.
Volunteers may also be asked to perform other landscaping tasks including planting shrubs and laying stepping stones throughout the garden.
Some gardening tools will be provided, but we recommend bring your own shoves, gloves and rakes if possible as we don’t have enough tools for 20+ volunteers.
