Located in Augusta, Georgia, Comfort House provides low cost, short term lodging and supportive companionship in a home-like environment for families and caregivers of out-of-town patients receiving care at Augusta area hospitals. There are no restrictions on the basis of race, sex, religion or national origin.

Comfort House is a non-profit organization that is ran and operated solely by volunteers. To continue to provide a home away from home for patients and their family members when they are having medical treatments, we need volunteers and support from the AU community. On November 6, 2021 we are having a Fall cleaning day at the house. We need volunteers to help with routine household cleaning and lawn maintenance.

Fall Cleaning Day

We also are in need of cleaning and hygiene supplies. We will be asking for donations of supplies from November 1, 2021 through November 19, 2021. These donated supplies are vital to maintaining the house. The supply list is below:

  • Paper Towels
  • Toilet Paper
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Fabric Softener (liquid or sheets)
  • Dish soaps
  • Hand soap
  • Miscellaneous cleaning supplies (glass, toilent, tub, floor, etc..)
  • Kitchen trash bags
  • Small trash bags
  • Non-latex gloves
  • Hand sanitzier
  • Disinfecting wipes
  • Antibacterial soap
  • Bleach
  • Large bath towels (new)
  • Hand towels (new)
