Community Partner FAQ

Days of Service is a special time each year when the faculty, staff, students, and families of Augusta University come together to positively impact our community through meaningful service in partnership with a wide variety of community partners across the CSRA like yours.

Days of Service Community Partner Project Proposals should be submitted no later than July 31st to ensure consideration for inclusion as part of our Days of Service events. If you anticipate having an issue meeting that deadline, please contact us and we’ll be happy to work with you.

JAGPULSE is AU’s new online community engagement platform that allows us to easily track volunteer service hours and, yes, JAGPULSE must be used to monitor registrations and track hours for your service project. If you have questions about the platform, contact us at dayofservice@augusta.com or (706) 721-3596.

Once we close our project portal in July, we review all of the service projects that have been submitted, work with organizations on any refinements and adjustments to their proposals that need to be made, and then our team keys each individual project into JAGPULSE.  This process generally takes most of the summer to complete in order to open up volunteer registration to our students and employee volunteers in September.

Yes.  We encourage you to submit as many projects as needed.  We have more than 1000 volunteers and are always looking for more projects to keep everyone engaged.  Please note that each project location should be submitted as its own separate project proposal. Please do not try to combine projects in one proposal.

There is no required timeline for your service project. We simply ask that you schedule projects during the Days of Service timeframe (November 1st-November 21st).

Our goal is to be as inclusive as possible when we are reviewing the project proposals. We do look for a few key project characteristics including:

  • Is your project description compelling to volunteers?
  • Is your project well-planned and organized?
  • Are you responsive to any questions or feedback we may have about your project?
  • Will you have adequate supplies and resources on site for the AU volunteers?
  • If your project is outdoors, do you have a rain plan in place?

We will notify all community partners of their proposal status before the end of August.

Yes! We welcome and encourage you to submit virtual and in-person volunteer options. Both volunteer options are popular with our volunteers and are generally well-received during volunteer registration. If you are interested in creating a virtual volunteer service opportunity, but need some ideas, feel free to contact our office at 706-721-3596. We’re happy to share some ideas from past years.
