In celebration of our collaboration with Augusta University’s Day of Service, we are hosting a community event at our Boys & Girls Club in Thomson. This event in particular will be to celebrate the strides the Club is making in the area of literacy and reading. In the morning, some of the volunteers will help set up games, tables, tents, etc outside. Some volunteers in the morning will be assisting with cleaning and painting the inside of the Club. Some volunteers (depending on the amount) will help plant flowers in the garden and clear out the vegetable garden. Afternoon volunteers will be helping to host the community event- play games with the kids, grill hamburgers and hot dogs, and interact with the community. Afternoon volunteers will also finish up any remaining painting, gardening, and cleaning.

Additional Supplies Needed: Boys & Girls Club of the CSRA will provide trash bags, rakes, paint, paint brushes, drop cloths, cleaning supplies, etc.

Inclement Weather Plan: Yes. There will be plenty of work to do on the inside of the building. If it rains, the community event will be held inside the gymnasium.

Restrictions: Volunteers must be at least No minimum age years old. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The mission of the Boy’s & Girl’s Clubs of the CSRA is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Boys & Girls Clubs of the CSRA offers a comprehensive youth development program both after school and through the summer.
