The mission of FOTAS is to support the Aiken County Animal Shelter by promoting animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the elimination of euthanasia of all adoptable animals.
Friends of the Animal Shelter needs your help to support our mission to provide comfort to the animals who are looking for their forever homes. Our theme for November is “Snuggle a Pet Drive”. AU volunteers are needed to help keep our animals warm and comfortable this winter season by either making throw size blankets or hosting a blanket drive. This project is dedicated to help support animals in need of a little snuggle this upcoming winter season.

Friends of the Animal Shelter needs your help to support our mission of providing comfort to the animals who are looking for their forever homes. AU volunteers are needed to help give our dogs more shelter and comfort this winter season by helping collect large doghouses. The dog houses will be provided to pets in our community owned by residents who don’t have the financial means to provide their own dog house. This project is dedicated to help support our dogs this upcoming winter season to stay warm and comfortable during their stay.
Friends of the Animal Shelter wants to provide the best care to the animals that reside here. AU volunteers are needed to help host a pet food and pet toy drive. This will help us out tremendously by stocking our food and toy supplies. This project will continue to help keep out furry friends entertained, happy and healthy. Please note for dog toys that nylabones and kongs are preferred since they cannot use rope toys at the shelter. For food, Purina Cat Chow is the preferred brand.

In the past, AU volunteers have helped us clean our trails. This project has helped us in the past enormously, by continuing this work it will help provide a cleaner environment and create more space for the animal. This will keep our shelter looking put together and create a more positive environment for our animals to play and exercise.
