We are a non-profit, inclusive, member-run children’s museum featuring interactive educational exhibits and occasional programming. Our exhibit space includes Sensorimotor Corner, the Fixer Upper, Science Corner, the Pre-Literacy Room, and the Art Studio. We focus on providing quality educational exhibits for children ages 0 to 6 and parents.
We are currently looking for volunteers to staff the museum. They will open, and clean up after patrons leave. The museum is currently open to visitors on Sundays (1-3:30pm) and Tuesdays (9:30-12pm). We are completely volunteer run and can use support from the community to recover from being closed during covid. Our projects are small, but make a big impact on our museum.
Museum Staffing Volunteers
The Preliteracy room provides space for children to learn letters, numbers and use their imaginations. Activities are geared to help prepare minds and bodies for phonics, sequencing and writing. A small stage makes this room our home for story hours, music and everyday performances by little ones. We are currently seeking volunteers to help us in repainting this room to make it a fun and positive environment for the children that we serve.
Pre-Literacy Room Painting Project
The Children’s Art Room is the place to let budding artists explore a wide variety of art tools and media. Paints, stickers, chalk and more provide plenty of hands on activities that will allow your child to create their very own masterpieces. Our Duplo LEGO wall provides a different approach to design and building that will get your child’s imagination working overtime. With a growing supply of adaptive tools, there is something for everyone. For this project, we are seeking volunteers with a knack for organization to help us with getting our art room storage straightened up and organized to accommodate the wide variety of art supplies and tools that we utilize with our young artists.
