Our mission is to provide leadership for sustainable watersheds and economic vitality through research, education and by connecting people with nature.

This will be an In Person Volunteer event at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park on Saturday, November 13, 2021. 9 am – 12 pm. We are looking for 20 volunteers. Open to discuss more volunteers, if there is interest. Phinizy Swamp Nature Park has been known for it’s beautiful trails, boardwalks and facilities. We can thank VOLUNTEERS for being responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and welcoming spirit. When the Covid Pandemic hit Phinizy Swamp Nature Park became a safe, “green” outdoor space for a lot of Augustans and visiting people from all over. With lots of people populating the park every day we had a lot of “wear and tear” on our boardwalks, structures, Play Area, etc. Lumber and supply prices are so high that our budget to support repairs and maintenance is taking a big hit too. We surely could use donations for supplies and equipment from Lowe’s for repairs and maintenance projects around the park. But, most importantly, we could use AU Volunteers to help us by working on those repairs and maintenance projects including trail maintenance, organizing cleaning structures and buildings, removal of invasive plant species, etc. with in Phinizy Swamp Nature Park.
