The mission of SafeHomes is to transform victims of domestic violence into survivors. We believe that every person has the right to live without fear and that no one deserves to be abused. Through advocacy, we respect the intrinsic value of each client, regardless of where they are in their journey. Through education, we help end the cycle of violence, one family at a time. And through awareness, we empower our community to take a stand against domestic violence and support victims as they transform their lives into survivors.
A project that we do quarterly is coined, Blitz Week, it is one week where we deliver a huge amount of information about SafeHomes to the sector that we have chosen for that quarter. What we need help with is bundling the information so that it can be sent via bulk mail. This will consist of bundling our brochures and cards into stacks of 5 and 10 so that we can send it via bulk mail. I can deliver the brochures and then come back to pick up once they are completed or we can host the volunteers on site.
Blitz Week Awareness Material Bundling Project
Hosting a donation drive is the most impactful way to help our clients on their journey of healing. Most victims come into our shelter with only the clothing they are wearing. And when they leave the receive items that have been donated to us, to help start them off in their new home. Donation’s are the driving force in helping us help victims become survivors. Our current needs are: Household goods like pots, pans, cooking utensils, eating utensils, plates, cups, bowls, laundry detergent and softner, laundry baskets, dish soap, hand soap, linens, towels, cleaning products and more; Personal Hygiene items like hair care products for both textured and nontextured hair, body wash, lotion, hand soap, hand sanitizer, tooth brushes, tooth paste, feminine products, flushable wipes, and more; Children’s items like diapers, pull ups, baby formula, childrens eating utensils, clothing, shoes, and more.

Shelter Donation Drive
All donations are kept off site at a storage facility where we organize them based on product. The unit is always in need of organizing. We organize the items based on the type of product, clothing size and season, etc. This is a task that can be done in groups of 5, Monday-Friday anytime between 8am-6pm and Saturday 8am-12pm.

It also provides handout and small items to passerby’s that will learn more about the domestic violence resource in our area. All items will be provided along with a demonstration.
